The Flying Flea name pays homage to one of Royal Enfield’s most iconic models, a lightweight motorcycle created during the 1940s for military use in World War II. Designed to be air-dropped behind enemy lines, the original Flying Flea was valued for its compact build, agility, and ability to traverse rough terrains. It later transitioned into a beloved civilian model with a loyal fanbase. Now, nearly 75 years later, the Flying Flea name returns, but as the brand for Royal Enfield’s electric motorcycle lineup.
This new in-house brand aims to deliver a series of fun, urban-friendly bikes that remain distinctly Royal Enfield. The debut models, the FF-C6 and FF-S6, are expected to hit the streets by early 2026. Each bike combines the company’s rich heritage with cutting-edge EV technology. The FF-C6, a city-centric classic, is a modern tribute to Royal Enfield’s legacy, blending retro styling with state-of-the-art EV advancements. Meanwhile, the FF-S6 embraces a scrambler aesthetic, offering versatility for urban exploration with a rugged edge.
Both models reflect Royal Enfield’s signature design philosophy. For instance, the FF-C6 revisits the pre-1930s girder fork front suspension, reimagining it in lightweight aluminum for a look that is both practical and nostalgic. Additionally, the bikes feature magnesium battery cases with retro-styled cooling fins for optimal weight distribution.
Sophisticated Technology Meets Classic Design
Underneath their vintage-inspired exteriors, the Flying Flea models incorporate advanced technology. Developed by Royal Enfield’s dedicated EV team, the in-house Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) introduces unmatched connectivity and customization. Riders can tailor throttle response, braking, and regenerative feedback across various ride modes. Regular Over-The-Air (OTA) updates ensure that the riding experience evolves with time.
The bikes also come with smart, connected features like a “phone-as-key” system for seamless unlocking and starting, and security measures such as real-time movement alerts. Charging is simplified with compatibility for standard 3-pin plugs, enhancing convenience for city riders.
Performance and Sustainability
The FF-C6 and FF-S6 offer dynamic performance balanced with practicality. Their electric powertrains deliver smooth, twist-and-go acceleration, while lean-angle-sensitive ABS enhances safety. Cruise control is included for comfortable highway rides. With a real-world range exceeding 100 km on a single charge and a top speed of 115 km/h, these motorcycles promise an enjoyable and efficient urban commute.

Supported by over 200 engineers across India and the UK, the project has developed all core components—including motors, batteries, and software—entirely in-house.
